The Real State of Real Estate

It was a great pleasure spending the weekend at the National Associations of Realtors event.  I had the opportunity to truly connect with many professionals, and was inspired to write about their benefits in the social media industry.

It is no secret that creativity and innovation are some of the sharpest tools in your toolbox, and after facing drops in real estate sales well into 2010; it is virtually essential to take the innovative path.

While door-knocking may be a great replacement for morning walks, I think we can all agree that door-slamming may not be the best motivator.

The real problem is: most people that receive these lovely visits, phone calls, and postcards are not looking to be sold by a stranger with a fancy business card.  Regardless of your credibility or great communication skills, there is usually a shield created by the recipients due to unfamiliarity.

Fortunately, Social Media has given you the ability to adapt to society’s behaviour.  This is now more socially acceptable.

Lead Generating Machine

Here is a bold counter-intuitive statement: you can build a better relationship through a computer screen, with your prospects, than visiting their residence in person.

Ironic? Yes. Truthful? Only if done right.

The Real Estate Professionals who can effectively engage and connect with their prospects will be ones who truly get to enjoy the fruits of their labor (Learn how to Engage your Facebook Fans).

Here is the reason why:

With social outlets, such as Facebook Pages, home buyers and sellers have the opportunity to learn about your Real Estate services at the comfort of their own homes.  They can flip through your listings, read through your no-pressure blogs, and automatically validate your credibility.

Here is the best part: when they finally decide to fill out their contact information, you are generating more than just a “lead”.  You are also receiving the email and phone numbers of people who are “interested in buying/selling” and will be expecting to get contacted by you.  Bingo!

This strategy eliminates the need to pressure others with a clever catch-phrase.  Instead, your Facebook Page invites all visitors to a no-pressure environment, and allows them to go through your information at their own pace.  This is very easy to see why Real Estate professionals can have a higher conversion rate on their social media page.  Win-Win situation at its finest.

As mentioned before in a previous blog, there are Facebook applications that can aid you in this daunting task of facilitating conversation between you and your clients. Having your property listings accessible on Facebook is an ideal way to persuade your potential clients to consider you before even leaving your engaging page.

Stay Social.
