Have you ever felt like not updating your website, not posting to your Facebook, and just fasting from social media in general? Don’t fret, it happens to everyone.
When you have multiple accounts to follow up with, it can be a daunting task just keeping up, and the temptation to just go on hiatus is attractive. And in most cases, having a break is a nice refreshing change… just not for a business.
Signing up a business onto the web is a commitment, and you can’t back down because it is getting overwhelming. As a business owner, you have the power to delegate!
Utilizing social media successfully in order to compliment your business (not replace it!) is important to keep up with. It is always changing, updating and evolving, so in order for your business to be well informed, you must be consistent. If you want to be ahead of the competition, you must make your presence known using these tools.
Have no fear, solutions are here!
But that doesn’t mean you have to be constantly overwhelmed, and constantly learning new ways to do things. The best method to keeping everything in control is learning the tools you have now, and use them well.
Consistency is key; so if you can’t commit to posting every day, or even every week, commit to posting on the same day every month (first Friday, or on the 12th, as an example). That way, posting becomes more manageable, and you are the one controlling your social media, not having social media control you.
An alternative solution would be to delegate your social media outlet to a trustworthy employee. Not your daughter or your neighbour – but an employee. That way you are completely in charge of how you want your business portrayed and the employee is motivated- if they don’t do a good job, they don’t get paid. If your neighbour doesn’t do a good job, they just don’t get invited over to dinner. Sounds pretty lonely, doesn’t it?
The main point is to not let it get you down. If you are feeling like your business pages are just spiralling out of control, look up some social media site that can help you manage your accounts. On the outset, try to make your pages work as simply and efficiently as possible.
Don’t feel stressed about social media, and definitely don’t let it get you down! Find a way to manage and balance your social media to increase your business online.
